BIO
Mutembezi Francis (Muteee) is a contemporary Congolese visual artist currently living and working in Kampala, Uganda. His practice harnesses the raw, emotive power of abstract expressionism fused with the striking, uncanny anatomical elements of surrealism to confront systemic socioeconomic and political adversity across the African continent. By distorting physical forms within chaotic, fluid landscapes, Muteee breaks down traditional narratives to map the psychological toll of conflict, ensuring the stories of the displaced remain unforgettable.
