BIO
David Kwalikwalaba is a Congolese contemporary visual artist based in Uganda and a representative of the Nakivale Young Artists and Writers. His urgent expressionist practice utilizes a highly charged palette of reds, yellows, and blacks alongside heavy, calculated blue outlines to investigate the psychological weights of displacement and fragmented identity. Exploring cross-border transition and memory as active forms of resistance, Kwalikwalaba continuously re-examines his signature "Blueface" character, utilizing hyper-vigilant eyes and exposed teeth as a resilient representation of enforced silence and survival between two cultures.
